We made\u00a0it\u00a0while\u00a0the political fallout of\u00a0the 2015 election was playing\u00a0out all over the media.\u00a0It grew out of\u00a0some conversations with <a href=\"http:\/\/furtherfield.org\">Furtherfield<\/a>, about what a street game inspired by the Magna Carta might look like, for a strand they were curating at <a href=\"http:\/\/frequency.org.uk\">Frequency Festival<\/a> in Lincoln. \u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/newwp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/tryptych-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-419\" src=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/newwp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/tryptych-2-1024x452.jpg\" alt=\"tryptych-2\" width=\"960\" height=\"424\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/newwp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/tryptych-2-1024x452.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/newwp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/tryptych-2-300x132.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Players have just three minutes to\u00a0come up with a manifesto that they&#8217;re willing to stand behind if it&#8217;s put on the internet forever (assuming <a href=\"http:\/\/manifestogame.tumblr.com\">tumblr<\/a> will last until the end of time). They have a limited word set, and fill in the blanks of five sonorous sentences. The game ends with a ritual reading of\u00a0the sentences, manifestos chanted allowed by the people who made them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/newwp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/TRYPTYCH-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-418\" src=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/newwp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/TRYPTYCH-1-1024x462.jpg\" alt=\"Manifesto! at Frequency Festival\" width=\"960\" height=\"433\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/newwp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/TRYPTYCH-1-1024x462.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/newwp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/TRYPTYCH-1-300x135.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Local Lincoln <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mervindove.co.uk\">signwriter Mervin Dove<\/a> made the boards for us, to give the game a strong street presence.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve since run the game at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cptheatre.co.uk\/production\/beta-public-v\/\">Beta Public<\/a>, with a voting mechanic &#8211; two groups compete head to head, and passers-by become the electorate, deciding who to vote for.
