A drawing game that focuses on both creating a fun experience, and helping players to make drawings they&#8217;re genuinely pleased with.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/index.php\/2017\/04\/27\/now-play-this-2017\/\">Now Play This<\/a><\/strong> (ongoing). A three-day festival of play at Somerset House, running annually as part of the London Games Festival.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/index.php\/2018\/10\/26\/an-instructional-guide-to-awkward-moments\/\"><strong>An Instructional Guide to Awkward Moments<\/strong><\/a> (2018). A collection of short games about awkwardness and intimacy for Science Gallery, Dublin.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/index.php\/2018\/09\/03\/as-i-was-saying\/\"><strong>As I Was Saying&#8230;<\/strong><\/a> (2018). A card game to play while exploring Goodrich Castle, created as part of the site&#8217;s interpretation offer for families.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/index.php\/2018\/07\/02\/inverted-operas\/\"><strong>Inverted Operas<\/strong><\/a> (2018). A collaboration for Playsonic Festival, combining sculpture and performance with play.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/index.php\/2017\/08\/24\/pop-up-city\/\">Pop-Up City<\/a><\/strong> (2017). A city-building game that ran on the Ellipse, a 48-metre LED screen at the Museum of London.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/index.php\/2017\/06\/30\/seaside-games-at-so-festival-in-skegness\/\"><strong>The Skegness Selfie Hunt \/ One Night in Skegness<\/strong><\/a> (2017). A treasure hunt and a digital game, both exploring Skegness through time as part of SO Festival.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/index.php\/2016\/12\/09\/playable-patterns\/\">Playable Patterns<\/a><\/strong><\/span> (ongoing). Digitally created patterns, projected onto walls and floors for physical play. Made as part of a residency at QUAD.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/index.php\/2016\/09\/30\/the-scientific-village-fete-at-new-scientist-live\/\">The Scientific Village Fete<\/a><\/strong> (2016-2017). A set of fairground-style games originally designed for New Scientist Live, designed to explore ideas around science including games exploring space and the future of technology.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/index.php\/2016\/12\/05\/games-we-found-at-the-va\/\">Games We Found at the V&amp;A<\/a><\/strong><\/span> (2016). A set of boardgames designed to be played on patterns taken from the walls and floor of the V&amp;A.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/index.php\/2016\/10\/26\/drawing-games\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Drawing Games<\/strong><\/span><\/a> (2016). Pencil-and-paper games\u00a0designed to help players create a work of art, created for NYU&#8217;s No Quarter exhibition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/index.php\/2016\/09\/30\/the-scientific-village-fete-at-new-scientist-live\/\">The Scientific Village Fete<\/a><\/strong><\/span> (2016). A set of fairground-style challenges for New Scientist Live, designed to explore ideas around astronomy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/index.php\/2016\/10\/14\/787\/\"><strong>One Easy Step<\/strong><\/a><\/span> (2016). An ongoing project at King&#8217;s College, researching public play and creating an installation for the Quad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/watw\/watw-front.html\">The Wind and the Weather<\/a><\/strong><\/span> (2016). An online game\u00a0about Amy Johnson&#8217;s pioneering flight from England to Australia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/index.php\/2015\/10\/21\/gamechangers-football\/\">Gamechangers: Football!<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0(2015). Ten\u00a0football variants running in the centre of Nottingham. With\u00a0GameCity and Nottingham City of Football.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/index.php\/2015\/09\/30\/hack-circus\/\">Prediction<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0(2015). A half-article half-game challenging players to find ways to predict their futures. For Hack Circus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tweet Like It&#8217;s 2099<\/strong>\u00a0(2015). A game about writing tweets in a series of distant futures. For\u00a0New Scientist.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/index.php\/2015\/11\/03\/manifesto\/\">Manifesto!<\/a><\/strong><\/span> (2015-16). A live manifesto-building game played by passers-by. Made for Frequency Festival, also shown at Beta Public and Game On!<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/index.php\/2015\/12\/01\/the-light-machine-at-eames-serious-play\/\">The Light Machine<\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>(2015-16). A game that invites\u00a0players to make pictures with light. Made for the Barbican&#8217;s Serious Play weekend, also shown\u00a0for Discover Story Centre.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/index.php\/2015\/09\/05\/now-play-this\/\"><strong>Now Play This<\/strong><\/a><\/span> (2015). An evening of games for 1500 people at Wellcome Collection.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/index.php\/2015\/06\/14\/racing-line\/\">The Racing Line<\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>(2015). A live drawing game for two players, made for Here London.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mathesonmarcault.com\/index.php\/2015\/06\/16\/54-cities\/\">54 Cities<\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>(2015). A set of cards that&#8217;s also a puzzle, leading players on a series of walks around Kensington and Chelsea.
